Nicole+John Wedding Film | An Asheville, North Carolina Wedding

When Nicole called inquiring about Splendor Films, and then told us her wedding was in Asheville- we couldn’t get on a plane fast enough. Then, as we got to know Nicole and John more, we knew there was no better couple we’d like to celebrate a long weekend with. It isn’t often that we film small intimate weddings, but I can without a doubt say that these  become our favorites. In addition, getting to know Nicole and John’s families was one of the highlights of our trip (in addition to our pitstop at Biscuithead!).
John’s dad was diagnosed with ALS a year and a half ago, and we were thankful for the laughs and celebration in John and Nicole’s wedding day. I don’t think we ever saw John’s dad stop smiling. We know a little about ALS through helping with Fotolanthropy and the story of John Paine in the film The Luckiest Man. If there’s anything we’ve  learned from that experience, it’s how we cherish life, and there was no shortage of that this weekend. John’s brother was even able to participate all the way from Moldova via video, and we loved the life-size cutout and fun he brought to the party.
The beautiful backdrop of Asheville, NC was straight out of a dream- and the time we spent with Nicole and John was equally as dreamy. It isn’t often we get a bride who will climb on a tree, sling through mud, and go dance in a field. Nicole and John trusted us and we think the end product is outstanding. Thank you, Nicole and John, for taking us out to Asheville and letting us film (and photo) your wedding day. Congratulations and we wish you all the best!

Lauren+Alex Wedding Film | A Dallas Wedding at Belo Mansion

Lauren and Alex are two people who found their love in a not so common way- through a open gym basketball court as Lauren was able to prove she has game to Alex. Alex was clearly impressed, and had enough courage to ask this girl on a date. A few years later, and these two were able to make it official! A big highlight of the day was Lauren’s relationship with her dad. This family is so close, and a few years ago, her dad was in a tragic accident that left him with difficulty walking. Needless to say, we were in tears as he made one of the most important walks of his life: walking his little girl down the aisle to her forever match.

We know you’ll enjoy this film as much as we enjoyed getting to know these two and their families. Thank you, Lauren and Alex, for letting us tell your story. Congratulations and we wish you all the best!

Courtney+John Wedding Film | A Dallas Wedding at The Ritz Carlton

Courtney and John’s wedding was both charming and super elegant. The entire day took place at the Ritz Carlton in Dallas, with a ceremony at the same church Courtney’s parents said their own vows years before. We just love to capture memories in places that truly matter to our couples’ stories.  On top of that, we got to work with our extremely talented friends Britney and Ben Tarno from The Tarnos Photographers who are some of the best people we know. 

What really struck a chord with me, was stylish and fun Courtney and John’s guests were. These friends and family came dressed to impress and ready to party! Courtney and John even had a Jimmy Buffet themed band break complete with inflatable parrots and “cheeseburgers in paradise.”

Another chic element of the wedding was all of the gorgeous boxwoods that transformed the Ritz into an elegant modern garden. I am now assured that boxwoods might just be my favorite greenery at a wedding. Jackson Durham did the fantastic floral and Kristen Butler for Fabulous Fete ensured every detail was perfect.

The other detail that still takes my breath away is Courtney’s stunning gown (and gown transformation for the reception!). Who doesn’t love a convertible dress that is classic and modern all at the same time. Seriously, Courtney rocks that dress like no other.

These two are such kind individuals- we are so lucky to have been able to capture their day and spend it with their friends and family. We know you’ll love their day as much as we do- click Play below to feel the love.

Rebecca+Ryan Wedding Film | A Houston, Texas Wedding at the Bell Tower on 34th

When you meet Rebecca and Ryan, you cannot help but smile as you see their kindness and genuine spirit light up the room.  These are two performing artists with an unbelievable love story. Starting off as acquaintances in high school competing for a student council spot against each other, they soon formed a close connection through their love for theater and vocal artistry. This closeness lasted through the years, even through their college time at SMU, and eventually turned to love. 10 years after their first encounter, these two made it “forever” at their beautiful Houston wedding in June.

Rebecca and Ryan had so many sweet moments throughout their day- so future couples, take note – their personal notes to each other were personal, unique, and full of adoration for one another. The musical tones throughout their day made our hearts sing. Ryan commissioned a musical piece as a gift to his bride (YES, WE ARE SERIOUS!). On top of that, the acoustics at the Bellower and exceptional talent of the guests singing sheet music at the ceremony gave us chills- it was so good. The BEST and most personal wedding music we’ve ever had the opportunity to hear. Top it all off with an acapella group and lots of Beyonce, and we give this wedding a score better than any music awards show.

Karis+Daniel Wedding Film | A Denton Wedding at Ashton Gardens

Karis and Daniel got married at one of our favorite places in Denton, Ashton Gardens! When it was time for the ceremony, these two could hardly wait to see each other! The way Daniel reacted seeing his beautiful bride coming down the aisle reaffirms why we do what we do. The songs of worship and the way that these two made God the center of their ceremony inspired our hearts.  After they said “I do”, everyone headed to the ballroom where all the guests sat back and watched Karis and Daniel’s beautiful dance followed by a choreographed wedding party dance (THESE TWO HAVE SOME MOVES, Y’ALL).  Dominic from LeForce Entertainment had us partying all night until we sent our couple off with sparklers just outside Ashton Gardens. We are so honored to have the opportunity capture their wedding! We wish you two the best and a lifetime of awesome dances together 🙂
